"Open My Hands"

"I believe in a blessing I don't understand
I've seen rain fall on wicked and the just
Rain is no measure of His faithfulness
He withholds no good thing from us
No good thing from us, no good thing from us

I believe in a peace that flows deeper than pain
That broken find healing in love
Pain is no measure of His faithfulness
He withholds no good thing from us
No good thing from us, no good thing from us

I will open my hands, will open my heart
I will open my hands, will open my heart
I am nodding my head in an emphatic yes
To all that You have for me

I believe in a fountain that will never dry
Though I've thirsted and didn't have enough
Thirst is no measure of His faithfulness
He withholds no good thing from us
No good thing from us, no good thing from us

I will open my hands, will open my heart
I will open my hands, will open my heart
I am nodding my head in an emphatic yes
To all that You have for me"
(by Sara Groves and Alli Rogers)

On this little blog, i have attempted now and then to flesh out some of my feelings, thoughts, beliefs about coping with struggles...the places where  faith and life meet...
Places that sometimes don't make a whole lot of sense.
I don't feel like i have any more "answers" these days than i've ever had....
I know that I cringe at the many cliches thrown around...(some of the more popular books, songs related to these issues just. do. absolutely. nothing. for. me. Sorry!!)
But: i do know that in my heart...all is well.
All is not perfect, all is not as i thought it would be.
but All is Well.
this new song on Sara Groves' "Invisible Kingdoms" says what my soul is singing. i could write long, rambling paragraphs and never say it as clearly:)
it is a blessing to me...
in this Thanksgiving season, i am feeling very grateful for grace that is enabling me to hold onto life more loosely...
to see myself (& my need for His mercy) more clearly...
to look to Jesus for healing...
to know security in His love and goodness.

"Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked. For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does He withhold from those whose walk is blameless. LORD Almighty, blessed is the one who trusts in You." Psalm 84:10-12
